Help build the voice interface for AI

OpenWhispr turns what you say into action. It's open source, it's been downloaded about 150,000 times, and it's built for people who want a choice: run it locally, bring your own keys, or use our cloud. We're hiring people who want to own big problems end to end.

Open roles

All roles are in person, in San Francisco or Chicago. Visa sponsorship is not available.

How we work

Our operating principles

These aren't wall posters. They're how we make decisions every day.

Bias for action

If something's broken, fix it. If you have an idea, try it. We don't wait for issue reports or perfect specs.

Proactive communication

Tell people before they have to ask. That goes for teammates and for users: if we see a problem coming, we reach out first, and if we get a bill wrong, we refund it before anyone complains.

No AI slop

AI gives us leverage, not an excuse. Everything we ship gets reviewed, tested and refined, and anything we share with each other is already clear.

Context is the bottleneck

We run a lot of workstreams in parallel. The core skill is managing context: giving it, keeping it, and switching between streams without dropping quality.

Do the thinking for the user

Simplification is the strategy. Every screen, sentence and default should take work off the user's plate. Opinionated by design, and still built for the tinkerer.

Grateful for every user

People caring enough to complain is a privilege. We use the product every day, and we treat taste as something you train on purpose.
